Israeli pianist Yael Koldovsky is recognized for her distinctive musical voice, wide-ranging repertoire, and compelling appearances as a soloist and concerto performer. She has performed throughout Israel and across Europe, including in Ukraine, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, Portugal, and Romania, in repertoire spanning the Classical era to contemporary music.
In December 2025, Yael took part in the Beethoven Weekend project in Kyiv as one of four international pianists presenting Ukraine’s first complete cycle of Beethoven’s piano concertos. She performed Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Presidential Orchestra of Ukraine, conducted by Maksym Gusak, at the National Philharmonic of Ukraine.
Her concerto engagements include appearances with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, the Presidential Orchestra of Ukraine, the University of Alicante Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Israel Chamber Orchestra, the Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion, the Haifa Symphony Orchestra, the Israel Sinfonietta Beer Sheva, and the Ashdod Symphony Orchestra. She has collaborated with conductors including Yi-An Xu, Bar Avni, Yoav Talmi, Mihnea Ignat, Roman Budziak, Maksym Gusak, Vag Papian, and Aviv Ron.
Yael’s solo and festival appearances include the Arthur Rubinstein Virtual PianoFest, the Summer Lieven Music Festival in Austria, the Oxford Piano Festival, MusicFest Perugia, Verão Clássico in Portugal, the Tel-Hai International Piano Master Classes, the Dynasty Festival in Ukraine, the Aviv Chamber Music Festival in Israel, and the Arad International Masterclasses in Romania. In 2021, she served as a Junior Jury member at the 16th Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition.
She has participated in masterclasses with distinguished pianists and pedagogues including Rena Shereshevskaya, Claudio Martínez Mehner, Eldar Nebolsin, Eliso Virsaladze, Christoph Eschenbach, Stephen Kovacevich, Lilia Zilberstein, Jerome Lowenthal, Gilbert Kalish, Craig Sheppard, Norma Fisher, William Fong, Tatiana Zelikman, Xiaohan Wang, and Milana Chernyavska.
Yael is a prizewinner of national and international competitions, including the Piano Forever Competition, the Pnina Salzman Piano Competition, the Voice of Music Young Artist Competition, the Tel-Hai International Piano Master Classes Concerto Competition, the Orbetello Piano Competition, and the Merci, Maestro! International Piano Competition.
Education and Grants
Yael began her piano studies with Tania Kozlov in Tel Aviv and completed her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance, summa cum laude, in the class of Professor Arie Vardi at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, Tel Aviv University. Since 2026, she has been pursuing a Master of Music in Piano at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, studying with Professor Marianna Shirinyan.
She has received AICF Excellence Grants (2014–2023; 2026–2027), grants from the Tzfonot Tarbut Foundation (2013; 2020), and a grant from the Ronen Foundation (2024). In 2026, she was awarded grants from Mary and John Hartwig’s Fond and the Danish Israeli Study Foundation in memory of Josef and Regine Nachemsohn to support her master’s studies in Copenhagen.
